Senior Awards

   Fifteen graduating seniors received awards from the Communication Department faculty as part of the annual Senior Reception May 14.
   Phillip Weiss (Public Communication) was recognized for receiving the Dean's Award for Outstanding Communication Student.
   Faculty awards were presented to Outstanding Graduates in each of the four departmental majors: Adam Buchanan (Media Production), Jeffrey Duquette (Communication Studies), Kimberly Herman (Public Communication), and Kate McGowan (Journalism).
   Fifteen students received a Commendation for Academic Achievement as the top 15% of graduates, having achieved a 3.5 major GPA. In addition to the five graduates above, commendations were given to Journalism graduates Amanda Griffith, Brandon Koch and Melanie Majewski; and Public Communication graduates Brenna Burns, Catelyn Burzynski, Cynthia Panasiewicz, Sharlitha Reed, Elena Rossetti, Alyssa VanDurme and Ashley Williams.  
   The department also presented a Commendation of Artistic Achievement to George Ghosen in recognition of an independent film that he wrote, produced and directed.
   The Charles Adair Award for Excellence in Communication was given to Elena Rossetti (Public Communication.
