Squeaky Wheel has honored Media Production professor Meg Knowles by screening some of her experimental documentary films. Her "Retro-Spectacle" is part of Squeaky Wheel/Buffalo Media Resources' regional artists showcase.
The Buffalo News called Meg "something of a legend" among media artists, citing her "impressive body of work that has been widely praised for its originality and intelligence." The newspaper said that, for Meg, "the video camera is both research tool and paintbrush."
ArtVoice called her "an artist of extraordinary perception and depth," describing her as "one of Western New York's most talented video artists."
Meg guides many of her students in documentary productions. She specializes in teaching video documentary and field production courses as well as courses in visual communication and basic media production. Her videos have been featured in art festivals, galleries and museums throughout the United States.
