AP Award for Internship Reporting

   Journalism major Nick Mattera has received the Associated Press' Young Journalist of the Year award for several stories he developed while he was an intern at the Niagara Gazette.
   Nick also received the AP's second-place honors in the beat reporting category for his stories detailing the spending by Niagara Falls school board members while on trips paid for by district taxpayers.
   Currently Nick is a reporter with the Niagara Gazette, where he interned last fall.
