Journalism professor Joe Marren presented a paper on "The Mertonian Journalist: The Impact of One Monk's Philosophy on Ethics and Practices" at a regional meeting of the American Catholic Philosophical Association October 30 at Niagara University.
Joe is becoming known for his academic work on Thomas Merton, a Catholic monk who wrote about ethics and social justice. He has applied Merton's thought to the field of media ethics.
