Com Grad Interns in Southern Belize

Evan Johnson at the Maya Leadership Alliance Office
2013 Communication grad Evan Johnson is completing a two month internship in international affairs working with the Maya Leadership Alliance in the Toledo District of Southern Belize.  The Toledo District is the poorest and least developed in Belize. The MLA works with Acaldes (traditional village leaders) in assessing and protecting the rights of Maya peoples in Belize. Evan conducts archival research and travels with MLA leadership to Q'eqchi and Mopan village in Southern Belize.
